Jag försöker att inte äta så mycket onyttigt.

Det är ett steg mot att gå ner i vikt, ett litet steg visserligen men ett steg i alla fall. Och det vart väldigt mycket onyttigt under en ganska lång tid vilket såklart påverkar min vikt.

Så jag bestämde mig för några veckor sen att sluta med godis, kakor, choklad och ostbågar under veckorna och införa lördagsgodis.

Min sambo har mycket vänligt gått med detta också så vi köper mindre onyttigt nu och jag känner mig bättre. Jag tror inte det är så mycket fysiskt bättre dock, mera psykologist bättre för att jag har tagit ett beslut och än så länge har lyckats stå fast vid det.

Förutom i lördags då. Vi handlade liite för mycket lördagsgodis då så det fanns kvar massor på söndagen - och riktigt så bra motståndskraft har jag inte att jag kan kasta ut godis och ostbågar bara så där. Men det bra var att både jag och sambon klagade på att vi hade ont i magen på lördagskvällen efter alldeles för mycket godis, men vi hade i alla fall inte ätit lika mycket på en kväll som vi kunde göra för en månad sen. Och det är ett gott tecken!

Och idag var jag Så nära att köpa en kaka efter lunch. Jag brukar ha ett sockersug efter lunch men det är banne mig värre dom gånger jag äter lunch själv, som idag. Men jag stod emot och gick upp och tog en kopp kaffe istället. Det är säkert inte nyttigare men men...

Laser eller Linser?

På lunchen idag nämnde jag att jag ska hämta mina nya linser idag och självklart fick jag frågan om jag inte ska göra laser-saken istället.

Jag säger självklart för det händer ganska ofta att jag får den frågan när jag nämner att jag använder linser, främst från personer som inte har varken linser eller glasögon, antar att de som har linser eller glasögon är så trött på frågan att dom aldrig ställer den själva. Som jag.

Mitt svar är alltid Nej. Högt, tydligt och jag menar det.

Och får alltid motfrågan Men Varför Inte?

Låt oss bryta ner argumenten.

1 - Det är så jobbigt med glasögon/linser.

Detta är så klart subjektivt, men nej, inte speciellt jobbigt för mig. Främst för att jag använder kontaktlinser och trivs mycket bra med det. Det tar några extra minuter varje dag att sätta i och ta ur linserna men that's it.

Senaste månaderna har jag enbart haft glasögonen och det är lite jobbigare. Men inga större problem, jag har vant mig och det är som att alltid ha bh på mig. Visst, det är skönare att inte bära den, men det är ingen stor grej att jag behöver den på.

1a - Det är så läskigt att pilla med ögonen.

Ja, de första dagarna. Pilla med ögonen två gånger per dag, varje dag i en veckas tid och det är en baggis sen.

2 - Linser/Glasögon kostar massor!

Ja, det gör det. Glasögon kostar runt tusenlappen för mig (har inte behövt byta på runt 5 år), linser går på runt 3000 per år.
Ögonlaser kostar (enligt en snabb googling) runt 20 000 per öga, så 40 lakan.

Så ja, laserbehandling kostar också. 13 år av linser = 1 laserbehandling.

2a - Men Laserbehandlingen är en engångssumma!

Ja. Jag har i alla fall lättare att betala 1500:- 2ggr per år än 40lax en gång.

3 - Det är ju helt riskfritt!

Nej. Ingen operation är helt riskfri. Ögonlaseroperation verkar tillhöra de risk-minimerade operationerna visserligen; bland annat så är det inget skärande = liten infektionsrisk.

Men alla operationer innebär en risk. I vanliga fall när operation är ett alternativ så är det ett mycket sämre alternativ att inte operera, dvs du dör annars. Men med ögonlaser så är alternativet att fortsätta med glasögon/linser.

Sen är det riskerna. Nu är riskerna små, visst, men det måste ju fortfarande finnas en risk att synen försvinner helt efter operation. Det är ett stort minus!

Min mycket begränsade efterforskning visar att ca 10 procent av de som genomgår laserbehandling inte får hela sitt synfel korrigerat, och det är vanligare om synfelet var stort från början. Och då behöver jag använda linser i alla fall.

1-2 procent kan också få biverkningar som oregelbunden astigmatism (brytningsfel), bländningsfenomen eller försämrat kontrastseende. Igen, större risk ju starkare synfel från början.

Så nej, ingen laserbahndling för mig. Jag betalar hellre mina 1500:- per halvår och är säker på att jag har kvar mina ögonen.

I am wondering if I can blog from the iPad?

Sometimes I get an urge to write, but I rarely do something about it. Perhaps I should. And perhaps I should write in swedish.

Jag har funderat på senaste tiden om jag ska sluta spela wow. Jag gillar fortfarande spelet men det är inte primärt för spelet som jag spelar tycker jag. Jag vill spela med människor jag gillar. Men jag vet inte om dom vill spela med mig.

Men vad ska jag göra istället?

Spela PS3?

Läsa böcker?

Spela xbox?

Uppdatera mitt Steam-konto och spela annat på PCn?

Jag det finns ingen brist på saker att göra i alla fall.

Vi får se vad som händer.

Också kanske jag ska blogga också, jag menar varför inte?

Last week was packed with non-WoW-RL-activites.

First I spent three days on loan to another office, living in a hotel, which I've been doing on and off for this whole spring. It's not half bad - would be better if the hotel had a better wireless internet though, but one can't get everything.

Then me and my office (15 people) went on a business trip to Prague. Not so much business and more vacation to tell you the truth, but we did do a little bit of business where we got a demonstration of PDMS (a cad-program, very advanced) and what could be done with that.

And then there were beer.

And more beer.

And more beer.

Until I gave up and started ordering wine.

And more wine.

And more wine.

And a Bailey's.

A good weekend all n all.

Right now I'm not feeling so hip though, started coughing last night and it's getting worse. This dry thing, where it hurts to cough and it hurts not to cough. Don't think I'll be long in the office today, I've done the most important tasks, gonne putter about for perhaps another hour and then head home and get some yoghurt and cough drops on the way home, to sustain me through the HC Achivement run that I have scheduled for tonight - if we can find a tank that is.

Right now it's Vee the DK, Kay the PewPew-Warrior, me as Holy and Jo as PewPew-Hunter.. in a pinch, both Kay and Jo have tank-chars that can do HC easily, but dunno if they want the achivements on those chars. We'll see. A tank is not so hard to find, right? Right??

Ok, I'm gonne do a short-ish explanation of the program that I work with. It's called AutoCAD, is fairly big (ok, huge) in design, construction and building industries. If you know what it is, please snigger a bit at my attempt to explain one of the most annoying things about the program - but how would you explain it.

Imagine that you spend all your day writing in Word. And you get a lot of other Wordfiles from other people that you need to incorporate in your own Wordfile. But everyone has their own fonts, their own images, a lot of indentations and tabbings and stuff.

But the images are not in fact included in the actual wordfile, they are linked from the image to the wordfile, so if the image is changed in the image file, you get a little bubble in the wordfile saying "you image has changed, do you want to update it?". And ofcourse if you send the wordfile to another person, the image are not automatically included.

So you sit there with your Wordfile, typing away, and you realise that Hey, now I need that block of text that that guy wrote, I'll cut and paste it in here. But, part of that text block is an image - that the guy have not remembered to include!! Not only that - this guy decided that the font Big_Bold was nice one to use for this textblock. A font that you do not in fact have in your version of Word. Now imagine that everytime you open this file, the program says "Sorry, I can't find the Big_Bold font, do you want to replace it?" and then it asks "No sorry, can't find the image that is suppose to be here, do you want to continue anyway?". And no imagine that you 15-20 blocks of these kinds of texts. And everyone lacks at least one image and one or two fonts.

That's a lot of boxes that you have to click Yes on. Which is why, for people that use this program, it's not uncommon to tell people that "I'll call you back in ten-fifteen, just need to open this file first"

And now comes what I actually wanted to write today.

The file that I'm working on today is lacking a font. The font is called LEROY_big. Which makes me snigger everytime.

PuG and the joy the same

We decided to try to get a guild Naxx running last night. Which hasn't worked for the last months, dunno why really. We get a few decent players in, they play for a while, then drop off.... not leave the guild, they just don't play.

So we had six guildies an were gonne pug the rest. The only good thing is that we rarely have to pug more than one tank or one healer - besides the dps. And as the saying goes, there's always a dps around the corner.

Last night was pug-a-healer-night - which turned out okay. The healer was one of the few that stayed the whole time. Other than that... Meh. It just takes soo much time...

We ran fast this time, one tank was master looter so while he took care of looting, the other tank ran onwards so we always kept going. Still, after getting the Spiders down easy, we wiped a couple of times on Gluth and after a few wipes on Thaddius we had been at it for four hours...

Anyway, while we were going, it was going good. It will be better.

So. This week is not so much gaming for me, I am on loan to another office so I have two nights in a hotel in front of me with a crappy wireless connection. Planning on spending these nights fishing. Then one night at home (wednesday so perhaps get someting done then, who knows) and then three nights out with the office on a business trip.... *snort* ..damn almost could keep my face straight.

The truth is, we're going on a trip to an office on the continent, and the biggest client for this offices (whom we've also had dealings with) just happens to be a brewing company. Very convinient.

Meh...

Went to bed last night, was gonne grab a last glass of water - no water.

Woke up this morning, was gonne grab a first glass of water - no water.

I still haven't figured it out what is wrong with it, but it's just the cold water that is a no-show. Very-hot-burn-flesh-water I can have as much as I like.

Anyways, last night I did Naxx. Yes I know, schocker - I did something designed for my level!!

Half guild and half pugs - turned out ok for the most part. After the obligatory first wipe on the Gargoyels where veryone goes "oh, you mean you really WANT us to shoot down the skull first?" we got Plague down without a hitch. Military followed suit (except a few buggy tries on Instructor Raz where one of the tanks had trouble MCing the add). Construct was next - Patchwerk was no worries, we had kick-ass DPS.

Then Gluth.

I really don't like Gluth.

And in this case we had no frost mage, no hunter, no death knigget... we did have two locks though so they were tasked with the kiting - if one of the locks had told us before hand that he didn't know what to do, we'd have gotten Gluth down on first try.

As it was now, the lock rounded up the zombies nicely with the big Felguard - but he then pulled the Felguard in to dps on the boss. I'm surprised we got him as far down as we did (healer in this fight, so don't know how far that was, but say 25-30%) but then the decimate hit and we lost.

Took us three attempts on Gluth but we finally got him down. But at that point it was half past eleven and people started leaving, so we called it.

Nice run as far as it lasted, I got two new items:

Dark Shroud of the Scourge and Chain of Latent Energies.

I also got my hands on a pair of bracers from a friend: Wraps of the Astral Traveler - which I just saw was bought with Emblems of Valor!

Anyways, I got some enchanting to do tonight!

To me! Yep, the Tiger is getting older - and I celebrated it in true Tiger style with a glass of wine (rosé this time) and a Napoleon. Very nice.

I actually celebrated the entire weekend with my friends - I had taken five of them with me down to my familys summer cottage to spend a weekend in the sun drinking beer. As I usually do at least one weekend a year with my friends down there.

Turned out that both the sun and the beer where a bit crimped with one of my friends being on antibiotics - so it was slightly less beer than normal, but just as much sun so I am a tad bit red right now.

Anyway, a great weekend. And it felt kinda nice to get home yesterday and know that I could still do what I always do (or always and always - always since I moved away from home eight years ago) on ym birthday. Hence, the wine even though it was a sunday.

And also last night, me, Vee, Nu and Jo finally got to do our first HC in Auchindon - Mana Tombs is done! And something new happend to me last night.

Before Mana Tombs we had to get Vee and Nu Honored with Lower City so we started with Shadow Labyrinth on normal. Then Nu had like 250 points left, so we headed into Mana Tombs to get the final points - but it turned out that he could only get to 5999/6000. So we went back to Shadow Labyrinth to get the final point.

When we got out, Nu flew off to get the key and Vee and I died. There we two Death Kniggets outside the instance that were having fun and tried to gank us. Vee managed to freeze them and then get airborne. And I learned that by keeping shield and renew on me, and chain-Dispell Magic on myself while running - I could get quite far. I managed to get to Mana Tombs that I thought was our next goal.

But it turned out the Jo rather wanted to do Sethekk Halls, so we ran that way instead. And then it hit me, right in the face when I tried to get into the instance: You have entered too many instances recently.

WTH?

Never knew that could happen... It only took ten-fifteen minuntes to clear it and I could get in, but still! Why?

Falling is what tigers do best

I met a hunter in Darkshire last night, who just said hi. I was so surprised that it took me a while to remember that yes, I can in fact talk to unknown people, most of them are not assholes. So we talked for a while, he asked me if I had done all the Darkshire quests, and when I responded 'yeah, a couple of times' he lol'd and asked how long I had played.

That got me thinking of a certain memory of the very first days I played. I was running around in Dun Morough with my gnome warrior and doing quests, reading them very carefully and them explored every nook of of the place, just to see what was over that hill. And there's a lot of hills in Dun Morough. I managed to get up on the southern hills until I saw something orange and shiny. Being the young and inexperienced gnome I was, I tried to get close to edge so that I could peer over the edge.

And I fell. Ofcourse.

And what is south of Dun Morough? You got it, Searing Gorge.

And for me, having perhaps played a week, it was scary.

The big problem was that I had no idea how to get my ghostly body back to my dead body. So I wandered around there and fell down the big hole, climbed up on the wrong side and on and on. The map was just a big grey blob so no help there.

Luckily I was in a guild with neighbours and friends at the time, so while they all had a good laugh at my expense, after a while when it was clear I was not gonne make it back (by that time I was so confused that finding my way back to the angel was not an option either) two of my guildies came and found me.

I felt such joy when two big white tigers with two tiny gnome rogues came and led me back to my corpse! They where my heroes for a long time.

That is my first WoW-memory.

Oh, and last night:Gruul is Dead!!!

Brushing or no brushing

Brushing of hair that is.

Sometimes, mostly weekends, I decide not to brush my hair after I've washed it. I don't dry it, I don't brush it, I tie it up in a bun and leave it there. This I did last night, which ofcourse made my hair look very mussy this morning. So I tied it up again, and left for work. Now it looks like a haystack. But I like it. So I wonder if I should stop brushing my hair altogether.

But you're not hear to hear about my hair now are you?

No, todays program is entiteled: What I spent an enitre weekend in WoW doing!

Lets see.

- I completed the Classic Dungeonmaster Achivement (note to self: need to learn to remember to take screenshots!)

- I dinged my mage 24 thanks to Vee (one DM and one Stockades run) and Jo (elite-quests in Redridge and one Stockades run)

- I managed finally to get the hang of the tournament thing - thanks to The Stoppable Force! I now am on the route to get ..uhm....dunno really. Sometime good I'm sure.

- I did Mechanar, Botanica and Arcatraz HC - so getting closer and closer to Outland Dungeon Hero.

- A normal Nexus run, as a thanks to Vee. And with the lack of guildies that wanted to run (late sunday night in their defense) I called in the Great and Mighty Oth..oh, sorry - the Great and Mighty Nuwa (changning name should come with an automatic mail to all on friendslist) as healer, and hunter extra-ordinare Kal.

- Dailys, dailys, dailys.... Blanc needs and Epic Flyer baby!!

Tonight there's a Gruul Fun-Run in the works, I should really leave work early enough to swing by the liquor store before that so no late night for me tonight! (sorry Bo...)

Yesterday I got an awesome achivement!

Neat ain't it??

We were suppose to do some TBC Heroic instances to get the Outland Dungeon Hero achivement, but not all of us had the Warpforged Key so we decided to run through the Tempest Keep 5-man instances to get the reputation up.

It was really good runs. I know they're not particularly hard, but still, we were four people:

- Me (80 holy priest, heal and pew-pew)
- Jo (80 mage, pew pew)
- Nu (70 tankadin)
- Vee (71 Deathknigget)

Poor Nu.. he did a good job in keeping aggro as much as possible though. Actually me and Vee did about the same amount of DPS - Jo won that DPS match ofc.

Anways. Depending on if the planned Ulduar raid (we as a guild have nowhere near enough gear for it) falls apart we might head in and get the Tempest Keep Heroics done. After that I need to get to Auchindon and get those heroics done. After that there's a few scattered left.

First, let me tell you a little about what I do for a living.

I do drawings, mostly for district heating and some for constructions. This basically means that I si and draw lines in AutoCAD. Now AutoCAD is a very strange creature. One might claim that it's just a software like any other. I would say not. It's just strange. But I would consider myself good at it, I use it alot, I want to learn about it and I spend time learning new stuff.

This ofcourse means that I spend in general about an hour each day helping others with AutoCAD. Which is ok, I learn stuff then too. But today I got the question "Why are my stuff not on Z=0?"

Everything should be drawn on Z=0. As in just 2D, flat drawings. But since AutoCAD has the capability to draw in 3 dimensions, sometimes stuff end up on different z-levels if you're not careful.

The funny thing is that each and ever file I have had to work with from this particular co-worker has z-levles all over the place! I generally close my eyes, sigh and do whatever it is I have to do and leave the file as fast as I can.

And now, my co-worker wants to know why stuff suddenly have ended up on non-0 z-levels. Jeez...

On top of this, which makes me annoyed because it's basic 101 of AutoCAD, today has been one of those days that I am very aware that this is a male-dominated workplace. And the men have been very manly men today. Examples? Glad you asked.

- A co-worker told a story about how he had beat up an older boy in school back when he was 15- and the moral was that sometimes you just need to hit harder than the other guy.

- A discussion that the wifes should never get involved in splitting up assets after deceased parents of the husband, since the wife ofc will be greedy and want everything.

- Apparently throwing cold water on people in a shower is extremely funny. In general, throwing dog poo and water and ice and anything icky on unsuspeecting people are very funny, just so you know. But, a women being a bitch is not funny, apparently.

- Stockholm is ofc the center of Sweden. Everything that happens here will affect the rest of Sweden. (I live a bit outside of stockholm, contrary to my co-workers)

All of this have gotten me into a very cranky mood. So the happy post that I planned out in my head today will not happen.

Presentation of Me!

A short presentation of me:

The person behind the blog is a computer junkie (as the sidebar states). Not that I know much about computers really, but I use my computer every day and all day. Work with it, doing drawings all day, and play WoW all evening/nights. I'm a nerd.

The main is BlueTiger, a priest with Shadow/holy dual spec - so mostly holy nowadays. A TBC child, I started playing right after TBC came out - so Naxxramas is the first raid that I have done on a regular basis.

The main alt is BlancTiger, a hunter that went Survival at 80 recently and is working on getting the DPS up to take Blue's place as the ranged DPS.

The alternative alt is RedTiger, a warrior that I have no idea how I got to 80 since I am absolutetly terrible at melee. But she is the herbalist/miner so it felt like a good idea. And I got her defense capped just in case.

Then there is a spattering of Tigers coming up behind. Next in line I think will be BlondTiger the Mage since I got her a nice staff and a pair of nice shoulders.

Death By Leviathan

Yesterday we died on Leviathan. Which I was really okey with.

I got to ride a Chopper!!

As our warlock said "I was looking for helicopters!" And after reading the wowwiki earlier that day I also thought that is suppose to be helicopters.

And wasn't I jumping with glee when the Raid Leader said "Blue, you get on a chopper"

My college friends kept saying that I'm a raggare at heart. Not the looking-for-sexual-contact at the top of that article. But the ones that drive real fancy old american cars and motorcycles. Which is why I was jumping up and down in my seat when I was told to ride the bike on the Leviathan!

The first try we did, one of our paladins figured that "Active the secondary defense systems" sounds like the easy mode... So we died.

And ofcourse, being on a high-horde-population PvP-server - hanging around outside waiting for the instance to reset is not a good idea. So we died.

When we finally got in, and we got the breakdown from the Raid leader things went more smooth. And after walzing around for a while, finally realizing we need to kill the towers, kill the towers, we actually got the Leviathan down to 45%. And then we died.

We tried again, (and kudos to Blizz for not makeing us killing all the adds again when the Leviathan respawns), got him down to 20%. And then we died.

On the third try we got him down to only about 50% before we died.

And then we gave up.

Not a bad night anyway, this was for many of us the first venture into Ulduar, and it feels like the first fight is one that needs some practice.

Next time Leviathan, we'll crush you!!
